How do I prevent UrlTrends from generating Trend Reports for a URL?
To allow webmasters to exclude a site from being listed in UrlTrends, we have opted to follow the robots exclusion standards.

In order to be removed from our index you can do one of the two options:

Update your robots.txt file to either block us explicitly or all spiders.
To do this place a file called robots.txt in the root of your website (it must be accessable at http://www.yourdomain.com/robots.txt and give a 200 OK response when requested) with the following text in it.

User-agent: *
Disallow: /

If you want to only block us use the following:

User-agent: Snappy
Disallow: /

Block us or all robots with a "robots" metatag
To block all robots place the following meta tag in between the <head> and </head> section of your website.

<META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="Put code here" />

Or to explicity block us use:

<META NAME="SNAPPY" CONTENT="Put code here" />

You can use any of the following codes and we will not generate trend reports for your URL:

"NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW", "INDEX, NOFOLLOW", "NOINDEX, FOLLOW", "NOINDEX", "NOFOLLOW", "NONE"

Please note that if you are using this method it will take approximately 60 days to be removed. If you want to be completely removed and can't wait the 60 days please see the next FAQ.

How do I get a URL removed from your database.
Place a file in your root directory called urltrends.txt (must be accessable at http://www.yourdomain.com/urltrends.txt) with "remove" in it. Do not put anything else in the file and place the text on the first line. After you have done that contact us here. We will remove your site and we will also add it to our permanently banned URL list.
